Six peach cultivars were used to evaluate their susceptibility to gummosis through investigating the peach tree gummosis in the field and inoculating the pathogens on shoots in vitro. The results showed that ‘Spring Snow’ was highly susceptible,‘Qingfeng’ and ‘Kurakata wase’ were moderately sensitive,‘Xiahui No.5’,‘Etao No.1’ and ‘Dahongpao’ had moderate susceptibility. There was significant linear positive correlation between the disease index of peach gummosis and the lenticel density or length of peach shoots. It is indicated that the lenticel density and length of peach shoots can be used as the morphological index of gummosis resistance.
