Based on the sustainable development strategies and planning of Wuhan East Lake Scenic Area,the theory of sustainable development is used to analyze factors involved in the relative closing of urban lake area,relationship of complicated urban management,falling behind of environmental preservation and low quality of public service.Possibilities of a more comprehensive development of promoting local employment and economies,nurturing LOHAS lifestyle by regulating landscape planning are discussed.Suggestions for water resource protection and development are proposed.
