Abstract:Rice gene OsVDAC3 is predicted to encode one out membrane protein of mitochondrion containing twelve transmembrane helices with bioinformatic analyses.Data of microarray showed that OsVDAC3 highly expressed in the root and floral organ of rice,and was obviously induced by drought,salt and multiple hormones.Over-expression lines of OsVDAC3 from T1 transgenic plants were identified with real time PCR and treated with salt stress and mannitol stress.The results showed that over-expression of OsVDAC3 obviously enhanced rice tolerance to stresses of both salt and drought,indicating that rice OsVDAC3 was the positive regulating factor under the abiotic stress.
