Abstract:Biomass alcoholysis is a way of high-value utilization of biomass, which can be converted to produce 5-Ethoxymethylfurfural (EMF), a liquid fuel with similar combustion characteristics to gasoline and diesel. In this paper, the research status and development trend of feedstock, catalytic system and solvent system for the preparation of liquid fuel by alcoholysis of biomass were reviewed. The present situation and trend of the preparation of liquid fuels from different materials such as sugars and lignocellulosic materials are summarized, and the homogeneous, heterogeneous and ionic liquid catalytic systems in the process of alcoholysis of biomass were reviewed and analyzed. the advantages and disadvantages of different catalytic systems were compared, and the function and effect of solvent system in the process of biomass alcoholysis were discussed. And the research trend of catalytic system for alcoholysis of biomass to liquid fuel was put forward.
