Achieving rural ecological revitalization is both an inherent requirement for advancing Chinese modernization and an essential component of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.As key centers for talent cultivation，scientific innovation，and technological integration in the agricultural sector，agricultural universities possess significant resource advantages and practical experience，making it their mission to serve rural ecological revitalization.To promote rural ecological revitalization requires the coordinated development of rural ecosystems，natural resources and living environments.Agricultural universities can contribute in several aspects，including ecological planning and layout，promotion of green development，and advocacy for harmonious and beautiful rural lifestyles.At present，the realistic difficulties of agricultural universities serving the ecological revitalization of rural areas are mainly manifested in the following aspects：a still-marginal role in participating in ecological spatial planning，limited focus in applying science and technology to empower ecological revitalization，and insufficient influence in leading and advocating for aesthetically and ecologically livable rural development.To address these issues，this paper proposes that in the new era，agricultural universities should empower rural ecological revitalization through the following pathways：aligning with local realities to deeply engage in rural ecological spatial planning and governance；aligning with industrial structures to promote the organic integration of industry and ecology；aligning with production practices to drive the comprehensive green transformation of agricultural development；and aligning with lifestyle needs to help create livable，business-friendly，and beautiful rural communities.
