Abstract:With the rapid development of emerging technologies and the implementation of the digital rural strategy, it is an inevitable trend for farmers to enter the digital era. This shift offers new opportunities to address long-standing challenges in rural governance and enhance its effectiveness. Starting from the “stable subjects” of Chinese rural governance, combined with field survey into the viral “Village BA” basketball event in Taipan Village, this paper summarizes the effective governance path in the digital age as a transformation “from traffic monetization to rural endogenous power regeneration”. The traffic monetization strengthens the previously weakened connection between villagers and their communities, transforming the village into a spatiotemporal field that can attract returnee entrepreneurship and boosts farmers’ income. On this basis, social connections can be reorganized, and rural endogenous power can be regenerated, supporting governance outcomes that both meet the villagers’ aspirations for a better life and promote a well-ordered public sphere. Effective rural governance in the digital era should prioritize fostering endogenous vitality within villages, transforming them into livable and economically viable communities where farmers can build stable and fulfilling lives.
