Digital technology is rapidly being applied in the field of village autonomy,which leads to profound changes in the effectiveness of villager autonomy.The fundamental reason why digital technology drives villager autonomy is that the horizontal convergence and hierarchical interaction contained in digital technology can enable villager autonomy from three dimensions: participation conditions,participation ability and participation willingness.Due to the varying functional elements of horizontal convergence and hierarchical interaction contained in various digital technology platforms in the villager autonomy scene,different digital technology software can be classified into four main types: multi-dimensional interactive platform,horizontal connection platform,information receiving platform and administrative platform.The investigation into the operation of the APP “Y City Yijiaqin” in Q Village of Southwest Hubei Province shows that only the multi-dimensional interactive platform with strong horizontal convergence and hierarchical interaction is the digital technology type that can effectively drive villager autonomy.The mechanism through which multi-dimensional interactive platform effectively drives villager autonomy lies in the construction of a digital space in which the autonomous subject can effectively participate.The information public sharing mechanism can guarantee the rational decision-making by villagers,the decentralized negotiation mechanism can significantly enhance villagers’ willingness to negotiate,and the visual accountability mechanism can effectively improve the efficacy of villager autonomy.
