Classification of rural domestic waste is an important prerequisite for realizing the utilization of rural garbage resources,which can be achieved by prioritizing the formation of villagers’ behavior of garbage classification. And this is the combined effort of external rules and regulations,rural natural environment,social structure,social norms,social relations and collective economy to discipline villagers’ classification behavior. This idea has precisely been realized in the rural areas in central Zhejiang Province after years of exploration. A garbage classification mechanism tailored to the characteristics of local society has finally been established,and villagers there have developed good habits of garbage classification.
