Abstract:Under uncertainty, there are many irrational phenomena in farmers’ decision-making in the process of farmland transfer. This paper first classifies the part-time farmers into two types:part-owner households Ⅰ and farmers Ⅱand then analyzes the behavior of part-time farmers’ land circulation. The result shows that different part-time farmers have different risk appetite and they make decisions of farm land circulaiton according to their own risk appetites from the perspective of prospect theory. The two types of part-time farmers are not inclined to turn out the farmland. The main reason for part-time farmer I not to turn out their farmland is the certainty of the land profit, while the main reason for the part-time farmer II not to turn out their farmland is that they don’t care the rental income of transferred farm land.
