Abstract:Speeding the pace of training new professional farmers is very important to solve such key problem of “who will farm?” in modern agricultural development.Based on the survey,this paper points out that in order to overcome some mechanism barriers that the management system is not smooth and the driving mechanism and competition mechanism are lacked,customer-orientation,promotion of supply front reform are the inevitable choices of strengthening the training of new professional farmers.The “123456” model explored by Dongxihu District of Wuhan in training the new professional farmers has a distinctive feature in supply front reform and also has the value of references and extension. The experience shows that defining the objectives and tasks, strengthening the organization and management, accurately selecting cultivation object and supporting policies to follow up are quite crucial to perfect the cultivation of new professional farmers.
