The Devil is a masterpiece among the artistic songs. Schubert employed a unique technique in the music creation,which brought the song tremendous expressive force of art. Based on the story plot of The Devil,this paper,through the analysis on specific music substance of the song, illustrates the features of music creation from the following three aspects: melody image, tonal harmony and piano accompaniment. Consequently, this paper points out that it is these specific characteristics that help composers achieve ultimate success.
