The Organic Law of the Villagers Committee of the People’s Republic of China (draft amendment) is adopted at the 17th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress on October 28,2010.The paper analyzes the specific amendment and the major issues on the amended Organic Law of the Villagers Committee of the People’s Republic of China through comparison method.The analysis shows that the legislation after the amendment improves the system of villagers’ self-government from many aspects,enriches the organizational system of villagers’ self-government,extendes the participation path to village-level democracy,perfects all kinds of mechanism and optimizes democratic participating processes.However,there are some deficiencies that need to be improved in the amended Organic Law of the Villagers Committee of the People’s Republic of China in terms of the general provisions of the villagers committee,the allowance standards for the village cadres,the villagers committee’s election rules and son on.
