This paper describes five stages of Singapore’s economic development and structural transformation and sums up the following characteristics of Singapore’s economic restructuring:the government’s strategic direction in the macro policy is playing the leading role; pro-business policy environment and social atmosphere are fully made; two-way strategy of going in and out is insisted on; adhere to the technical innovation as the upgrading of traditional industries and the growing base of emerging industries; grasp the opportunities the global economic restructuring,and constantly focus on strategic industries so as to make industrial clusters breakthrough.Finally,this paper makes the comparative analysis and gets some inspirations from Singapore’s experience for China’s economic structural transformation.
