After the World War II,the French agriculture had achieved a swift development and made remarkable achievements.In 1979,France became the second largest agricultural producer and the top exporter of processed food in the world.This achievement depends on the objective geographical conditions of the country as well as the positive and effective agricultural policy,such as encouraging the farm annexation,founding agricultural cooperative organizations,implementing the policy of agricultural subsidies and improving the quality of farm operators,etc.These policies and actions give great enlightenment to China’s agricultural development and the analysis of these policies and actions suggest that China may take the following measures:giving more support to agriculture,developing special subsidy policies with Chinese features,adjusting the structure of agriculture industry,gradually modernize agriculture.Besides,with urbanization and the diminishing of agricultural labor-force,countermeasures should be taken to encourage the centralization of farm land,expand the scale of agribusiness,put more money in agricultural scientific research and strengthen farmer training so as to develop agricultural productive force.
