In the practice of land consolidation of China,many places pay less attention to the theory of ecology and landscape science.In these places,human being is always regarded as the conquer of the nature,which has caused a serious consequence that land consolidation has become such mono-activities as pursuing the land to be smooth,hardening channels and paths,therefore ecological environment has been destroyed and natural landscape been ruined.Based on the on-the-spot investigation,graph and empirical analysis,this paper illustrated the status and function of ecology and landscape science in land consolidation.This paper also pointed out that ecological engineering is the important supporting technology in land consolidation and building and maintaining the landscape is the basic objective of land consolidation.
