The functions and values of abstracts in Sci-Tech papers are analyzed.Based on some problems in English abstracts of Chinese Sci-Tech Journals,this paper pointed out that the editors must attach importance to the Chinese writing of English abstracts and master the linguistic features of Engish of S&T in order to gurantee the high quality and high indes rate of English abstract of Chinese Sci&Tech periodicals.Samples are presented to illustrate those related problems in the paper.
